RIC Properties, a full-service Real Estate and Property Management company, is looking for a seasonal part-time groundskeeper to assist in maintaining the commercial properties we manage in Cambridge and Isanti. Occasional travel to other cities may be required.

This is a weekday position with flexible days and hours. A vehicle, trailer, and grounds keeping equipment will be provided during the course of your workday for work related purposes.

This position will perform routine grounds maintenance and custodial duties as needed. The focus of this position is to ensure all properties maintain an excellent curb appeal.

SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE:

• Mow lawns.
• Trim and edge lawns, walkways, etc.
• Clean and sweep walkways and adjoining areas.
• Walk the property and pick up and dispose of litter and other debris.
• Clean landscape beds and other areas. Supplement bare areas with rock or mulch.
• Apply weed control product or pull weeds as needed.
• Apply insecticides as needed.
• Plant and/or prune flowers, grass, and shrubs. Water as needed.
• Perform minor repairs on handheld grounds keeping equipment.
• Minor repairs, power washing, and painting as directed.
• Other minor maintenance duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be at least 17 years of age.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with no significant violations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES PREFERRED:

• Ability to use lawn and maintenance equipment and hand and power tools including gas-powered weed whip, riding lawn mower, edger, pruner, hedge trimmer, etc.
• Knowledge of the proper way to prune/trim bushes.
• Ability to work with little or no supervision.
• Have initiative and motivation to keep properties looking great.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE POSITION:

• Physical outdoor work in varied weather conditions, especially on hot days.
• Exposure to outdoor airborne particles from trees, grasses, weeds, etc.
• Frequent walking, standing, and occasional climbing, kneeling, crawling, reaching.
• Lift /carry up to 50 pounds.
• Use of hands and arms to handle, feel objects, and operate equipment or controls.
• Work in an environment where noise levels from machinery may be moderately loud.

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
